How can you volunteer?
Field Trip Chaperones:  I like to take Art classes to the Seattle Art Museum and could use help on  April 14th, Thursday to see Kehinde Wiley's:  A New Republic.  http://www.seattleartmuseum.org/wiley .    Volunteers go for free, since you're giving up a day to be with us!! http://nkschools.org/domain/144 Volunteers need to have this packet filled out and turned in by March 15th so it's clears within the 7-10 day turn around and checking.  If you filled one out with the district from the 2014-2015 school year, you just need to let me know it's on file at KMS or with one of the local elementary schools.  Heads up, you'll need a copy of your driver's license along with the complete packet that can be turned in to the KMS office.  (They can copy your license if you'd like.)  If you're interested, please email me:  DStewart@nkschools.org
I can only take the first 35 students that sign up.  First they get permission slip coming out March 9th or 10th, you sign it, all their teachers sign it.  Once all the signatures are on the slip, students have permission to buy their ticket at the main office with Mrs. McKay.  Go to the student window and ask to come into the office to pay for a field trip and they'll direct you to Mrs. McKay's office.  The cost is $20.  Checks made out to KMS.  We leave and return within school hours, so no need to make special arrangements.  Students need their own lunch and snacks.   Comfy walking schools and school/weather appropriate clothes.  Other items/information on the permission slip coming out on March 9th or 10th.
I could use help putting up and taking down pictures.  Please contact me:  DStewart@nkschools.org
 Pottery volunteers/2nd semester (4th quarter):
My 1st and 2nd period classes love to try throwing on the wheel...it's nice to have a volunteer help them to do that or help them with other projects while I'm helping them throw on the wheel.  You need to have a volunteer packet turned in before coming in to the classroom to help.  It can be found on the district website under parents/volunteer or the packet can be picked up at our school office.  Thanks!
Art Photographer:
If you like looking at student artwork and photography, this would be a perfect opportunity to take pictures of art work.   Every other Tuesday afterschool, I want to make a habit of getting artwork photographed for various reasons if you'd like to help me with this way of celebrating student's artwork, I'd appreciate it!
Calling All Community Artists:
If you are an artist, feel free to schedule a time to come in and meet the artists in my class.  We love hearing about different kinds of art and the techniques used to make all kinds of art.
