CORE EXTENSION DESCRIPTION AND EXPECTATIONS
Ms. Ellison, Room C1
PURPOSE: The purpose of Core Extension is to promote academic growth in a quiet, focused, productive environment.
ACTIVITIES: Most days are self-directed, and students may either work independently on class assignments or read silently.
REMEDIATION: Students may also use Core Extension time to get help from other teachers as needed. A student who wants to see another teacher must have signed permission from that teacher. It is the student’s responsibility to get signed permission before Core Extension begins.
EXPECTATIONS: Students are expected to have something out and ready to work on or read when Core Extension begins. It is each student’s responsibility to have something productive to work on quietly and independently every day. Students are expected to take advantage of Core Extension time by working throughout the period. I will work with students who are not successful meeting Core Extension routines and expectations individually, with parents, and with school administration as needed.
COMMUNICATION: I welcome communication from both students and parents. Please feel free to contact me anytime by e-mail, at email@example.com; or by phone, at 396-3462. When I initiate communication, I will use the e-mail address(es) listed in Skyward. If e-mail is unavailable, I will phone.
I look forward to a productive year!
